If the CFexpress card is generating substantial heat, maybe pulling the card and cooling it would speed up the recovery time. There are a few design choices that I find interesting. Some Canons have a lot more room behind the sensor and no IBIS and I've seen active cooling mods for astro where a large heatsink/cold finger with or without heatpipes etc depending on space is installed and active cooling applied at some position.
New Firmware for Canon EOS R5 Coming in November. I prefer Canon protecting the longevity and reliability of the camera and sensor. I’ll obviously be posting updates as I get them. I like knowing that this will be the same on every job. I wonder if there will be a pixel shift high resolution mode since it has IBIS? The insides of these things are absolutely astounding to me. Great, but damn, I did not expect to be waiting until July for this. Canon EOS R5 Mark II is Canon's upcoming professional/high-end full frame mirrorless camera to be announced in 2022 to 2023.
The Canon EOS R5 has two memory card slots, one is SD card slot (Supports UHS-II SD cards), the other is CFexpress card slot. As pointed out by EOSHD,  why does not of this matter when recording externally? I would like to see a test that measures the CFexpress card temp when the R5 thermal sensors trigger a shut down.
