Sorry meant to say that when we first switched to FF DS was still having a feed at 10.30 ish. The nipples that fit in standard sizes will fit any standard bottle. Do not microwave. Bedtime was usually a Mam as DS seemed to be able to drain that with minimal effort and the fact he didn't have to try meant he just zoned out. She's now 15 weeks and we've given up!Hope you have more success! DS had been sleeping through from 12 weeks and never started needing night feeds once his day feeds were cut, he just sort of adapted! Tristan wouldn't take it the first time - hard work for them! Was it hunger or more a comfort thing and whether he was just ravenous so wanted to scoff it down, wanted comfort or just wanted to take his time and wind down. My initial bottle refuser took to the NUK ones with no (well hardly any!) These bottles are intended to be used once only and discarded. I need the consolation that she's still getting milk.I'd best get pumping and freezing and crossing my fingers. Pharmacy2u I think is where I got mine online. If formula, what type?? She'll probably go off the breast completely (sob) although hope to do a feed during visiting hours. It was a nightmare but Albie has taken this one (fingers crossed) twice now and without a smidge of upset. This time round I was determined to start earlier with the bottle etc etc.. Fingers crossed this helps me too - I will be surprised (but delighted) if it does... Not what you want to hear am afraid but..bought the small hole teat directly from Nuk as could only get medium in shops. Then I needed her to take a bottle and I swear they sense it suddenly it was a no go.
I have no idea if it was just the teat softening due to being washed and sterilised causing the flow to increase or what.
To be honest I'm not expecting it to help much - I tried Breastflow last time but I think they're a bit of a gimmick. Aftger taking a couple of bottles in the early weeks lo now flatly refuses a bottle. They seem to be most durable for me. Am holding it as a last resort option at the moment. Hi I have only been using them for a week, and not having any luck with them at all. Just to say I used Nuk teats as well as my LO was prem.
Country of Origin. Just so you know, we may earn a commission if you buy something we’ve linked to here. I never used parents choice but that is because I preferred the dr.brown or avent nipples. :). Im truely amazed lol. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
I have useed Nuk teats in the avent bottles and they work fine, havent tried the other way round but would think they would work. Im not too sure anything will fit given the shape of the NUK bottles. ), so am going to persevere and thought I would try some different teats. Sorry for the questions BabyCenter aims to share products and services we hope you’ll find interesting and helpful. I was told that Avent teats fit the Nuk bottles, but I have tried this today with no luck. They are available in Boots and Asda. I'm afraid nuk hasn't saved the day in this house. ), so am going to persevere and thought I would try some different teats. It's fab!! Compatibility. Working from home. Ooh can I join in and mark my place for all the advice that will be forthcoming from mn. I'm a bit scared of the prospect of the 'baby feeds all night to make up for it' thing happening - not my idea of a good time!!! But they continually block, and do not seem to flow fast enough.
But they continually block, and do not seem to flow fast enough. It was even harder with DD1 from the point of view that she was a very frequent feeder and also very very late and slow to take to solids, so I couldn't leave her at all until she was quite old. If the formula you are using is 'thicker' you could make the hole just a little bigger ;) We're back to square 1 now and just spend silly money on a Madela bottle. I think that I will try to make the hole a bit bigger with a pin for now. We have mam bottles with size 1 teats - that's all I've tried so far. ... Do NUK FIRST CHOICE Bottles fit into the NUK Baby Food Heater and Steriliser? Aparently the cheap tesco brand bottles fit the calma teat so dont spend a fortune on a 5oz bottle and test like I did (£15 each) Grrrr!!
What price freedom?
How do you relax when you have 10 minutes to spare? Did you make sure the "air vent" system was facing up? Hi all, need some advice re teats please. We were probably a bit peculiar but we found different bottles worked at different times of day. Thanks for your help Mine would never have it if I was anywhere near. Why am I being shouted at over this?! We had expected major ructions, but it was fine - so a transition to cup & bed might not be terrible, although obviously 5 months is much younger than DD1 was.I think the Doidy cups work quite well - I'm going to buy one if DD2 doesn't take to the normal lidded cup, but they're quite expensive so would like to avoid if possible. In other words the nipple cannot be removed from the bottle collar. Anyway, he seemed fine with that and never seemed to look for milk at nursery IYSWIM. To think 26 seconds isn't long enough to wait?
I guess the point I was trying to make earlier was that we found different types seemed to suit DS at different times depending on what he was feeling. DD2 is 5 months and is also a bottle refuser, we could try a cup.... What cup would we try, doidi (sp?) To use this feature subscribe to Mumsnet Premium - get first access to new features see fewer ads, and support Mumsnet. I found it made swapping from breast to bottle quite easy. Managed second time and he got into the rhythm. That old 'breastfed baby won't take a bottle' chestnut is rearing its ugly head in my house AGAIN ((sigh)) .
DD (10 weeks I think at time) seemed to take to it really well as it didn't flood her mouth with milk like other teats. Please??
Good luck! My first NEVER took a bottle! Anyone had any experience of using these with different bottles? I mean it was like that student trick with the bottle of alcopop and a bendy straw. Germany
Only files 8MB or smaller of the following types are supported: JPEG, PNG, GIF. I used these all the time. So don't be afraid to use them instead. Jeanettex, Hi Nikki Sometimes a little bit more at weekends.
Sorry that doesn't really help but it did seem to be trial and error and for us different types of bottles worked at different feeds! I know what you mean. I do have some nipple shields that I bought 'just in case' before I had DD1. I know the advent fit with the playtex, but ive never found something that fits with the nuk. Now I just need to work out how to get her to suck...Good luck though.

NOTE: Some bottles will only work with a specific pump/bottle adapter and are noted below (with affiliate links to purchase the adapters). Sometimes i had to try both to see which one suited DS that feed. I think that I may now have the answer. You'd think I would have learned from DS! I have only been using them for a week, and not having any luck with them at all. Oh emsyj - if the Nuk do work I have an unopened pack of 2 latex medium flow I bought at the same time as the slow flow you're more than welcome to! She will have the MAM teat in her mouth but won't suck on it - I have managed to con her into a brief few sucks by holding it next to boob and shoving it in, but she isn't fooled for more than a few seconds. I ended up having to go for a whole day out while DH did bottle boot camp. We used the closer to nature at that time. When I was really struggling to find some, I phoned up NUK and they sent me some ;) Once she'd had one she was ok. She too took one fine (Nuk) for first few week and then stopped for a few months! The Tommee Tipee closer to nature were good for daytime feeds at that age or Nuk. I use nuk and medela calma as well as breastfeeding, lo has no problem with these, I haven't used on different bottles tho, I think the nuk will mostly fit wider bottles whereas the medela is a more standard size, (we would sometimes use the presterilised teats from a one shot on a medela bottle), I'm amazed by the calma. We dropped her bottle and now she won't have milk at all! First thing in the morning was a weird one that I've not come across since.
Think one was Breastflow and Medela do one too. Not what you want to hear am afraid but..bought the small hole teat directly from Nuk as could only get medium in shops. I would just go to one of those free flow tommee tippee ones - DD1 drank milk from them quite happily eventually, but it did take practice and as you say, it's harder to do a bedtime feed from them if you normally feed them to sleep.I can tell you though that when I gave up bf at 1 year with DD1, she had no problem with the change to having toast & milk from a cup downstairs, then being put to bed with a story, sing and cuddle with DH.
NUK Classic Disposable Bottles will accept all NUK Classic Teats and will fit 40mm breast pump flange threads.
Haha! Hi I am currently using Nuk number 2 teats for my dd2. Just ordered a doidy cup too! They deteriorate quite quickly so need replacing every couple of weeks. DD (10 weeks I think at time) seemed to take to it really well as it didn't flood her mouth with milk like other teats. Nikki, Hi Nikki Has anyone any other ideas please? Jeanettex, Hi Jeanette X, Board hopping from July. Am on second bottle refuser too. Was determined to at least mix feed this time but DD has had other ideas! Just wanted to say, I use NUK too as they are the only ones my DD will take. Fingers crosses if you get your DD2 used to the Nuk latex she might happily transfer over to another bottle. Wide-neck NUK First Choice and First Choice+ teats will not fit. Please flag if you think our product match is incorrect. Next attempt was similar and milk seemed to be dripping out while I was holding it to put to her mouth. Thanks for your responce. Not sure what ones you are using as they have Latex ones and Silicone, I used the Silicone and I bought mines from Mothercare and when they had none in stock like Jeanette I would order them from pharmacy2u but I know you can also get them from boots. I tried it once and hated it (DD didn't notice any difference, it just made more mess as far as I could see) but it might be worth a go if you've got a clock ticking?
Aftger taking a couple of bottles in the early weeks lo now flatly refuses a bottle.
